SCENE 4 - The Doctors description.

  1. 'Dr. Peter Sciuto, pleased to meet you.' The doctor held out his hand as a handshake offer.'

  1. 'Mike, Michael Wallace, sir.' Mike shook the doctor's hand firmly. 'So how does it work Doc ?' Mike asked inquisitively. 'Apparently someone stole one.'

  1. The doc replied: 'It generates a reasonably powerful low frequency acoustical magnetic signal that outputs a cellular repair signal to cells. The transmitted message contains signatured information for Lizbeth's DNA.' The doc continued on: ' It's a really cool device, there's only eight like it in the entire world. It uses a pressurized plasma gas tube signal generator and it's powered by a high-powered spacecraft battery. In a normal environment it's fairly harmless; unless you wear it too long.' The doc chuckled.

  1. The doctor paused for a second in thought. “Lizbeth had a bad case of hypertrichosis, or hair all over the body. We were able to cure it by taking electro-acoustic samples from Lizbeth’s healthy cells.” The doctor’s last statement sounded a bit contrived.

  1. “If you like, I’d be happy to give you the long story on the device.”

  1. “Cells communicate with each other via an electro-acoustic signalling mechanism. They can literally talk to each other acoustically. By recording pieces of the conversations of healthy cells, and playing it back to unhealthy cells, the unhealthy cells can be instructed how to repair themselves.

  1. Cells repeat periodically what is like an instruction book on how-to upkeep themselves. Playing this instruction book tells the cells what to do. That’s what Lizbeth’s Device does, plays the instruction book for Lizbeth’s cells. The device is basically just a high-tech playback device. A recording of Lizbeth cells was done in the lab. One side effect is, sometimes it actually works on other people’s cells too, if they’re exposed to the signal for too long of a time. “

  1. “It’s not normally hazardous to anybody, because in the long run one’s own cellular signalling would overcome work done by Lizbeth’s device. Short term exposure to Lizbeth’s device is completely harmless. It works for Lizbeth because she wears the device 24/7. Now if someone else were to wear the device for an extensive length of time, who knows what would happen.”

  1. Since the device is very expensive to produce, we decided to make half the value of the device as a distinctive piece of jewellery. As jewellery it has some insurance benefits, and is easier to identify.

  1. The device also has quite a thick layer of gold around it, in order to absorb trace amounts of radioactivity emitted by the plasma electro-sonic generator.

  1. Lizbeth really needs that device back in the near future, or she could be looking kind of strange.
